Anantnag / Shangus : Sources told KNT that Health workers had gone there for screening, but the locals attacked them, resenting the screening move.
Sources added that Health workers fled from the area after chased away by the people. Some people slapped and roughed up some workers.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr Muktiyar told KNT that this is not the first incident in the district. “Earlier, health workers were also beaten up in Kharpora area of the district, which has now been declared as Red Zone,” he said.
Dr Mukhtiyar said that matter has been taken up with District Development Commissioner Anantnag and those responsible for this act will be taken to task. (KNT)
