- DWAS felicitates ‘Dronacharya Award’ winner Kuldeep Handoo
Srinagar, Sep 26 :District Wushu Association Srinagar (DWAS) on Saturday organized a function in Srinagar, to felicitate Kuldeep Handoo, the first ‘Dronacharya Award’ winner from Jammu and Kashmir.
Kuldeep Handoo, according to news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com-KDC is the chief coach of the national Wushu team and is also holding the charge of CEO Wushu Association of J&K.
He was conferred with Dronacahriya Award this year and the award was given away to him by President of India Ram Nath Kovind on 29th August 2020 in New Delhi.
The felicitation function was organized by District Wushu Association, in acknowledgment of his achievements in the field of sports and his services to promote sports in the valley, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Besides an award from the Association, Kuldeep Handoo was presented gifts from the students and their parents.
Those present on the occasion include Nisar Hussain president awardee, Maqsood Ahmed Rather from DWAS, Ajaz Hussain state medalist, besides the parents of the trainees. (KDC)
