Awantipora 19 November 2025: Continuing the sustained crackdown on illegal mining, Awantipora Police have seized nine vehicles involved in unlawful excavation and transportation of minerals.
A police team from Police Station Awantipora, headed by SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad along with IC Police Post Reshipora SI Muneer Ahmad, under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora, seized seven tippers/dumpers and two JCB machines in Renzipora area.
The vehicles were found being used for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Accordingly, Case FIR No. 254/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora, and investigation has been initiated.
Awantipora Police remain committed to curbing illegal mining activities across the Police District. Strict action is being taken against violators who exploit night hours to carry out unlawful extraction, posing threats to public health, the environment, and government revenue.
