Bandipora, Jan 12: An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a road accident in Saderkoot area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday afternoon.
Divisional officer Police Post Ajas Inspector Qaiser Bashir said that a young motorcyclist bearing motorcycle number JK02N 1293 was hit by a speedy Bus bearing registration number JK13-3815 near Saderkote Bandipora, leaving him critically injured.
He was immediately rushed to nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The deceased was identified as Liyaqat Ahmad Mir Gojer Son of Hidayatulla Mir Gojer, a resident of Check Garoora area of Bandipora.The bus driver was reported absconding from the site of the incident.
Meanwhile, Police have taken cognizance of the incident and have registered a case under FIR number 05/2020 under sections 279,337,427 IPC and further investigation has been initiated, he added that the driver will be tracked and in custody soon.
