Srinagar, Nov 24: Maroof Khan National Media Panelist and Social Activist welcomed the order of The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday when they announced the winter vacations dates for all schools of Kashmir division and winter zones of Kashmir region from December 05.
The information was given out by School Education Department (SED) official who said that the winter vacations for all government and recognized private schools of Kashmir division shall start from December 05 onwards(for classes upto 8th) and Third week of December (for 9th -12th classes).
Earlier Maroof Khan requested the Honb’le LG Manoj Sinha to reconsider the order and announce the vacations. Today after coming this order and speaking with the media khansaid i’m highly thankful to Honb’le LG Manoj Sinha and administration that they reconsidered the order and this is a welcome step from the govt as winters are also harsh in the valley.
Officials said that the decision was taken after a meeting was held in which different schedules were discussed including the winter vacations for the Kashmir division. The government educational institutions and recognized private schools up to 8th standard shall observe the winter vacation from December-05 to February-28-2021,while the vacation for the senior classes from 9th to 12th standard shall be observed from third week December.
