WE LIVE IN THE WORLD WHERE FRAUDSTERS ARE HONOURED.
What can you expect from the society where the fraudsters are
hounoured and the genuine are dishonoured? It is the present
situation of ours. We have stooped so low in this regard that
apart from knowing that it is a crime, we still go on doing this.
We never bother to pause for a moment and ponder over the
fact/s that if we go on respecting the cheaters, what the
condition of the truth will be.
Reaching this situation does not need some time. But it
needs a lot of time. Moreover,it doesn’t come like a bolt from
the blue but it is a gradual process. It is a malaise that steadily
and slowly creeps into the lives of people. It also has a number
of factors responsible for it.
The first cause responsible for this is materialism.
Materialism means love for the mortal things. This world has
reached that stage where everything works on the behalf of
matter. In another sense, without having some specific things,
one can not think of living in life. When such is the situation of
any society, all the people of that very society will try their best
to collect those very things that will guarantee a good living and
tention free life. In our age, a decent three-storeyed house, a
car, a bike, some hectares of land, all the children in
government services, good health, bank balances, etc., mean
the most beautiful life. If these things are found in any person’s
life, there is no worry to haunt him or her. He or she will worship and fulfil the rituals and customs and appease His or Her Lord. In the whole process, one thing that is missing is that there is no concern for the legal or the illegal ways. These
things should come, the ways never mean so much. In this
environment, a true person beats his or her head against the
wall and feels dejected. He of she believes that the main
criterion for respect is God-fearing but in the society, the
opposite is happening. One who fears God is rejected while the
one who doesn’t is respected. In this paradox, the truth takes
backseat but it never dies.
The second responsible for this is that we live superficial
lives. We never bother to look deep into a thing. The glittering
surface inclines or forces us towards it. We are a carried away
community. We blow with the winds and fall silent in a calm
atmosphere. This situation can never bring laurels to a society.
The third and the last cause responsible for this according to
my opinion is that we are hypocrites. We believe something
and do something else. If God says that earning from the
forbidden ways is harmful then why we don’t refrain ourselves
from these. We think that a person, who has a lot of money
earned by hook or crook, is healthy and is respected, what is
wrong with me if I follow him or her in this. This hypocrisy is
difficult to understand. And when this is the situation, the
Providence waits for the appropriate time.
Let us hope that we will become sensitive in this matter and
begin to respect those who are first to be respected.
