DCC and Chogan Slathia Welfare Committee continued distribution of free ration in Jammu City in view of the lockdown. They delivered free ration in Jammu East, Ward 1 today. A non profit committee based in Jammu, Chogan Slathia Committee has reached more than 500 people with aid in the form of free of cost food items; and this was the fourth such program organised by it.
Collaborating with DCC Jammu, they arranged delivery of the ration to the doorsteps of families which had been identified as families in need beforehand. The members, themselves packaged ration items and assured their delivery to the homes of these people. Each package of ration included essential food items including rice, wheat, oil , potatoes and nutrela.
Speaking on behalf of DCC Jammu, Sri Yogesh Sawhney, Former Minister J&K and General Secretary JKPCC In chg District President Jammu Urban, said “The Chogan Slathia Welfare Committee is doing commendable work in this time when help is most needed. The party supports them and would continue to support them for working for the welfare of the people.” He commended the Committee’s work and encouraged the members to keep up the good work.
Sawhney stated that this initiative was really important since door to door delivery ensures that people do not crowd at one place. “The committee had identified and recognised families who are suffering miserably because of the lockdown, noted their details and then ensured that required ration would reach their homes without them having to pay or even come out. They are doing public service and there is no political agenda behind the committee’s work and they aren’t looking for credit. They deserve our support and encouragement. The party will support people in such noble endeavours.”,added Sawhney.
The team collectively worked to properly implement the distribution program which was carefully designed with the aim of helping every deserving family. Pawan Dev , Anoop Gupta , All team members of CSWC including S/Shri Ram Saroop Baru (Chairman CSWC) , Raj Singh, Dhian Singh, Ram Magotra, Ashok Tak, Sanjiv Singh, Abhi Jamwal, Sumit, Pranav Singh and Baleshwar Slathia. participated to ensure the right execution of the program. The team also appealed to others who are willing to make contributions to step up and help.
