Jammu: National Students Union of India raises serious concern over the problems being faced by the students of J&K. Briefing the media persons Neeraj Kundan said that government should formulate a proper plan to bring back the residents of the union territory including students and migrant workers. He shared the truth about the helpline numbers which were not even operational hence creating a lot of issue for the students to communicate. Government should launch more helpline numbers and connect the existing ones and make them operational.Kundan said that the students who were brought back from Punjab were treated inhumanly. There were no availability of basic amenities like water bottles, refreshments etc. There was no measure to follow the social distancing as the buses were over crowded. Adding to this point government is asking 300 students in Indore to travel by buss and cover a journey of 1800kms which will take 3 days. In this scrounging heat and considering the social distancing measure how will students be able to cope with this. This is such an inhumane act. We demand that these students should be brought home by train. He also shared another issues of the people who were reaching Lakhanpur border. There were no basic quarantine facilities like tents etc.Authorities are advised to take this matter into consideration and take further steps. Government should launch more helpline numbers as there are a lot of students and other people stuck in different states. Government should check the accountability of the existing helpline numbers.
