Srinagar, May 20 : A 12-year-old boy who was injured yesterday during the house collapse at Nawa Kadal encounter site, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a boy identified as Basim Aijaz son of Aijaz Ahmad of Chota Bazar Karan Nagar was injured yesterday along with three other persons at Nawa Kadal encounter site on late Tuesday when a house there got collapsed.
They said that the youth injured youth, who is class 7th students and was undergoing treatment at SMHS hospital here succumbed to his injuries.
As reported yesterday, some people on late Tuesday evening visited the encounter site at Nawa Kadal where two militants including a top Hizb militant Junaid Sehrai were killed. The house there got collapsed suddenly, leaving four persons wounded – (KNO)
“Only domiciles can appear in entrance tests conducted by BOPEE”

Srinagar, May 20 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday ordered that only domiciles will be eligible to sit in entrance tests conducted for professional courses of Jammu and Kashmir.
The government today amended rules to make possession of domicile certificate as eligibly for appearing in entrance tests conducted by the Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE).
“Any candidate interested in appearing in any entrance test, conducted by the Board, must possess Domicile Certificate issued under the Jammu and Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure) Rules, 2020 and such age and qualification, including of category certificate and experience, as prescribed by the Government for such course from time to time,” reads the amendment carried out in the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination Rules, a copy of which lies with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)
It also directed all administrative secretaries to immediately effect changes in statutes/rules wherever there exists prescribed requirement of ‘Permanent Resident Certificate’ for admission in educational institutions.
The move comes two days after Jammu and Kashmir government unveiled domicile rules.
It is worthwhile to mention here that under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Removal of Difficulties) Order, 2019, any reference by whatever form to “permanent residents of the State or hereditary State subject”, wherever they occurred in any Act or notification issued or rules, orders made thereunder, stands omitted with necessary grammatical variation –(KNO)
