Covid claims one more life, 113 test positive in J&K

Srinagar, Jan 12: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday recorded one more death due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,912 in the Union Territory while 113 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 122,764 in J&K.

Of the exact number of 122,764 cases, 71,886 are from Kashmir and 50,878 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 113 new cases, 48 belong to Kashmir division while as 65 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 71,886 including 69,839 recoveries and 1,200 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 50,878 including 49,331 recoveries and 712 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,682 including 847 from Kashmir division and 835 from Jammu division.

With 198 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 119,170 which is 97.07 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 24 from Srinagar, 05 from Baramulla, 02 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 03 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 02 from Bandipora, 02 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 65 from Jammu division include 48 from Jammu, 05 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 02 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 04 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 02 from Ramban and 02 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours one person who was tested positive for COVID-19 has died, who belongs to Srinagar district.

As per officials figures, 25,662 positive cases including 452 deaths and 25,012 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,039 including 172 deaths and 7,801 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,683 including 7,505 recoveries and 111 deaths are from Budgam, 5,646 including 5,458 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,604 including 94 deaths and 5,425 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,836 including 4,689 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,673 cases including 4,571 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,536 including 4,409 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,672 including 2,570 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,535 including 2,399 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 24,428 including 23,613 recoveries and 365 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,171 including 4,025 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,860 including 3,758 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,424 including 3,321 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,238 including 3,178 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Kathua, 2,806 including 2,619 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Samba, 2,729 including 2,699 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,469 including 2,416 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,120 including 2,089 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,633 including 1,613 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 970,625 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 33,336 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,682 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 897,576 persons have completed surveillance period and 36,119 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 4,138,707 samples are available.

Out of 4,138,707 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,015,943 while as 122,764 have tested positive, among them 1,682 persons are active, 119,170 persons have recovered and 1,912 persons have died—(KNO)
