Zarah Bhat 20 years old female hailing from Nawabazar area of district Srinagar who had done her schooling from Casett School & is pursuing Bachelor’s degree from Amar singh college.Zarah had represented Kashmir recently on international level, 03 times on national level, 08 times on District level and 06 times on State level.
During an interview Zarah said that she had started her journey when she was 12 years old. Since from her childhood she was interested in sports, and always wanted to showcase her talent to the world. When I was in 6th grade, school started karate classes, I was happy as it was the first step towards my goal. Thus, began my journey of karate said Zarah.
Rome was not built in a day.It requires many efforts and hardwork to achieve something big.It was not easy for Zarah to achieve her passion because after joining this field there were people who wanted to bring her down or discourage her, they brought religious and social aspects into discourse. Despite all the negative aspects her parents, family always encouraged her and supported her uplift her morale.
In 2016 she played her 1st nationals which was held in Haryana Kurukshetra and won silver medal. She played her 2nd nationals in 2017 which was held in Delhi and last but not the least she played for Yoga (Team nationals) in 2018 which took place in Chhattisgarh.
Zarah added that after qualifiying my 10+2 I underwent some health issues which was really a tough time, I feel like losing my dream, but I never gave up. I believe in accepting defeat with a smiling face! Many a times I fail, but that failure makes me even more stronger, & more dedicated towards my goal.
After working hard day & night, I got qualified for (63rd Yoga Games U19 DURG, Chattisgarh).Not only this she played Judo too.
Zarah never stopped,with the passage of time her passion became stronger and stronger.In 2020 she played 1st International E-Martial art competition in Health and Fitness organized by Acdemy of Self defense & Martial Art Research of India where she bagged Ist position in India and won gold medal. Her hard work paid her off when she got selected for “SAI Netaji Subhas NIS, Patiala (India), by Prime Minister package. This was the big opportunity & she got the Rank of Ist DAN Black belt in KIA.
Not just a player she way hired as a Coach by Sports Council in Health & Fitness at Khwaja Nakshband Stadium Radpora.During this spell we organized various functions where Honorable Home Minister Mr Rajnath Singh were the chief guest, along with the CM Mehbooba Mufti & Youth wing leader Mr Waheed ur Rehman parry. The function was a huge success said Zarah.
Belonging from a middle class family, it was tough to stand on all the requirements but her Father managed everything, they faced financial crises, but with the support of family she faced difficulties cheerfully. For a long time she fight against trials & tribulations and worked hard to achieve success.
She was elected as Sr.Vice president of District Srinagar of ( TAJA) by Shihan.She had also been selected for State Qualifier Referee from Srinagar. Her dreams does not stop here she wants to take part in Common Wealth Games and Asian Games which she wants to give her best and come with the best. There is no substitute for hard work in order to achieve success & also no excuse. Success does not come in a miraculous way, we need to work hard, we need to fight.
Heading towards the end of the interview Zara said that I believe man is the marker of his future. My aim is to serve my nation. There is still many more I wanted to do and I will. I wanted to set an example, and want to create a platform for those who are desirous, especially for the girls. I want them to be self independent. There are many things I have to learn, I got fascinated with the adventure activities. My parents are my strength. They have always supported my dreams. According to them, the only way to achieve all your goals is to work hard and never give up on them. They have never imposed themselves and demanded any of their children become what they want us. Instead they wanted us to choose career & a life that will give us joy and stability.
