Hajin, May 19: A 34-year-old man drowned into river Jhelum in Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district while performing ablution on Wednesday morning.
A police told the news agency—Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that a man identified as Ashiq Ahmad Dar (34) son of Abdul Aziz Dar, a resident of Banger-Mohalla area of Hajin slipped into river Jhelum and drowned while he was performing ablution for prayers.
He said that soon after the incident, locals and a police party from Hajin police station rushed to the spot and immediately started a rescue operation to retrieve the body. (KDC)
