Srinagar, May 2: Reacting over the victory of Mamta Benerji led Trinmool Congress Party in West Bengal, Prof. Saifuddin Soz, Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Sunday said that this victory is surely a crushing defeat to communal forces.
“West Bengal Assembly Election results have shown to the world that Democracy and Secularism have to be recognized as core values of India’s social and political life. The win for Mamta Banerji is surely a crushing defeat to communal forces,” Soz said.
Soz as per news agency KNT said that the entire world knows that both the PM and the Home Minister had raised communal slogans like ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’ etc.
“Mamta Banerji and her party had shown to the world that India will stay secular for all times to come,” he said adding that it is very unfortunate that the Election Commission of India has shown itself in extremely poor light. (KNT)
