Jammu, Aug 14: Body of a 22-year-old tractor driver was found in village Nowshera area of rajouri district following which there was protest by family and locals.
Official sources told GNS that at astound 15:15 hours, body Akash Kumar (22), a tractor driver by profession, son of Johinder Pal age of Rajal, was found in village Hanjana Thakara Nowshera.
Tractor carrying water tanker found alongside on road. A police party from police post Nowshera reached on the spot and shifted the body to SDH Nowshera for post postmortem.
Meanwhile family members joined by locals and relatives took to streets and blocked a key highway, demanding that those behind the “murder” be brought to justice.
ASP Noweshra Amit Verma, SDPO Noweshra Zakir Shaheen Mirza and SHO Noweshra Pankaj Sharma among others reached the spot and pacified the protesters with the assurance that thorough investigation will be done.
They said that an FIR has been registered. Later people dispersed and the traffic was restored on the highway. (GNS)
