Srinagar, June 16 Two militants affliated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen oufit have been killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Hangalgund area of Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.
On behalf of IGP Kashmir, the Kashmir Police Zone tweeted, “Killed militants identified as Junaid & Basit Bhat of HM militant outfit. Militant Basit was involved in killing of BJP’s Sarpanch Gh Rasool Dar & his wife, a Panch on 9/8/21 in Anantnag,”.
Earlier Kashmir Police Zone tweeted, ” Encounter has started at Hangalgund, Kokernag area of Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.
It’s pertinent to mention that the two Hizb militants including the one who was responsible for killing teacher Rajni Bala were killed in 3 days long gunfight in Kulgam today.(GNS)
