Principal Secretary to Govt. Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon (IAS) was accompanied by DDC Srinagar Shri Mohammad Aijaz (IAS), Director Skill Development J&K Shri Sudershan Kuman (JKAS) , S.E & XEN (PWD)(R&B), Joint Director and Skill Development Department and Principals of Polytechnics and ITIs.
● Principal Secretary laid the foundation stone for Model ITI, a centrally sponsored scheme at an outlay cost of Rs. 10 Crore.
● Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, while addressing the gathering, encouraged to work more on innovation and incubation and skill development to upgrade the skill to the latest technology used in the modern industrial environment. He interacted with the staff and directed them to work with utmost efforts to ensure the empowerment of youth.
● Speaking on the occasion, Director Skill Development J&K Shri Sudarshan Kumar appreciated the efforts of the Principal Secretary and laid emphasis to impart quality skills to the youth so that the future will be bright and secure.
● In the welcome address, Principal Sr Scale ITI SRINAGAR Mrs. Anisa Moon welcomed the guests and gave a brief presentation about Model ITI that the key objective is to develop a benchmark for industry oriented ITI which would server as the Model for other ITI and would raise the dignity of ITI education.
Speaking on the occasion, she briefed that 7 new age courses would be introduced, and 10 trades would be upgraded. The intake capacity would jump to more than 1000. She further added that the Model ITI is a challenge as it is a trend setter in the domain of SkillTraining. This is for the first time that mostly new age courses are being introduced in ITIs of J&K.
