‘Locals hail move, say Dr Shahid is peoples DC’
Srinagar, Dec 28: In a people friendly gesture, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary Monday visited the house of a District Development Council (DDC) candidate at Harwan to administer her oath as she wasn’t able to attend the official oath ceremony held at Tagore hall.
As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Dr Shahid visited Harwan area of Srinagar outskirts to administer oath to DDC candidate, an expecting mother, who won the elections. “A DDC candidate Rizwana Akther, who won DDC polls recently but couldn’t attend today’s oath ceremony, was administered oath as she is expecting,” an official said.
Locals of Harwan area of Srinagar hailed DC Srinagar’s efforts and said “Dr Shahid is People’s DC.” “This is how an official of higher rank should behave.”—(KNO)
