April 19: A policeman was shot dead after fired upon by terrorists at his residence in Hiller Shahabad area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Senior police officers reached at the terror crime spot.
Terrorists fired on a policeman identified as Sgct. Manzoor Ahmad son of Mohmmad Akram resident of Bahi Kokernag. He has received gunshot injuries in this incident. He was evacuated to nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries. However he succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom.
Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror crime.“`
