Anantnag, Jan 19: Anantnag Police today acting swiftly upon a specific information that militants are planning cop killing/ weapon snatching in town Anantnag.
Police alongwith 1st RR laid nakas at multiple places and conducted intensified checking. During checking one recently recruited militant of proscribed JEM outfit namely Ayaaz Ahmad Bhat S/O Gh Rasool Bhat R/O Shirpora Bala was apprehended and one Chinese Pistol alongwith one mag and 7 live rounds were recovered from him .
In this regard case FIR No 11 of 2021 U/S 13,16,18 ,20 UAPA , 7/25IA Act stands registered in PS Anantnag .
Acting upon another information that militants are planning to lob grenade in Anantnag town laid surprise nakas at multiple places and meanwhile during checking one militant associate of militant outfit JEM namely Rayees Ahmad Mir S/O Ab Rasheed R/O Chandhara Pampore was apprehended at Mehendi Kadal and one hand grenade was recovered from his possession.
In this regard case FIR No 12 of 2021 under relevant sections of law has been regd in PS Anantnag.
Further investigation is going on.
