Bandipora, 26 Feb: An officer of Rural Development Department on Friday died due to heart attack while on duty in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An officer, identified as Saleem Ahmad Darzi, posted at Tulail as Block development officer , suffered a heart attack while he was on duty at Tulail in Bandipora. “He collapsed while performing ablution (Wudu ) for Friday Prayers,” officials said.
He was immediately referred to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad expressed deep shock over the demise of the officer. He said efforts are on to bring the body from Gurez valley as soon as the weather improves. “I am in touch with the Divisional Commissioner also so that a special chopper is arranged for carrying the body,” he added.
