Poonch, May 28: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Inder Jeet has ordered suspension of an employee of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department for allegedly jumping home isolation besides giving a blatant go-bye to mandated COVID-19 protocols.
A suspension order (DCP/PA/1444-46, Dated 28-05-2021, a copy of which is lies with GNS, states that “As reported by Chief Medical Officer, Poonch and Tehsildar Haveli that one (name withheld) of Chandak, an employee of PHE Deptt tested positive for Covid-19 on 25-05-2021 at PHC Chandak and was consequently advised strict home isolation for a period of 10 days. However, he repeatedly violated Covid – 19 protocols related to Home Isolation and went to Surankote to see a doctor, attended a marriage function, visited PHC Chandak and he also allegedly misbehaved with the staff of PHC Chandak.”
Terming the allegations levied as ‘serious’, the deputy commissioner has suspended the accused with immediate effect.
Tehsildar Haveli has been in the meantime asked to submit the factual report into the matter within seven days positively, following which, as indicated in the order, further legal proceedings shall be initiated against the erring official. (GNS)
