“The Lt. Governor of JK-UT is appealed to order a high level probe into the alleged
misbehavior by SDM, Thathri, in a Quarantine Centre at Thallela.” AAP-J&K
Jammu and Kashmir Aam Aadmi Party in a press release issued here said that there are
allegations of poor quality and sub-standard meals being served to people who have been
detained in a Quarantine centre at Thallela, Doda. In this connection a video is viral in which it is
observed that on being asked, some detainees are shown to be displaying the served meals in
disposable plates in their hands. Reportedly the meals so served, is of such low quality that
allegedly it can’t be even served to the animals and there are also reports of misbehavior on the
part of government officials who have been assigned the job.
There are also reports of utter misbehavior by SDM Thathri Mr. Athar Amin Zargar who
reportedly visited this Quarantine Centre at Thallela and people were beaten by police on the
instructions of SDM. Detainees alleged further that he threatened them of dire consequences in
case somebody from this centre is found making any such complaint in future. Allegedly he has
further threatened that in case somebody complains of any such thing in future, then he (SDM) will
retain such people for another two months there and they will not be allowed to move to their
homes and hearths.
The LG Administration of JK-UT is appealed to order a high level probe into the alleged
happenings and strict action under rules be taken against the SDM Thathri In case such allegations
are found based on facts, who has acted quite contrary to what it should have been. Because
under such circumstances he has added fuel to the fire as already people stuck at different places
due to lockdown are in a state of mental agony and stress. Moreover the authorities at the helm of
affairs in district Doda must make it mandatory to provide quality food to the Quarantine detainees
at Thallela and other such centres in the Chenab Valley.
