Sopore, Jun 06 A militant has been killed in an encounter that raged at Penipora forest area of Zaloora in North Kashmir’s Sopore in Baramulla district.
An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) , that a militant whose identity is being ascertained has been killed in Penipora area of Sopore in Baramulla district.
Earlier officials told KNS, that a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police had laid a cordon and search operation in forest area of Penipora in Zaloora village of Sopore after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering off an encounter, they said.(KNS)
