Srinagar, Nov 5: The Hoteliers Club of Kashmir Tuesday strongly condemned the recent militancy-related incidents, particularly the grenade attack in Srinagar that left 12 civilians injured. Renowned hotelier Mushtaq Chaya and other stakeholders addressed the reporters during a press conference and unequivocally urged the security agencies not to allow some elements to raise their heads.
The stakeholders emphasized that they are always at the beck and call of the government and will cooperate in curbing such incidents. They appealed to the government and security agencies to take proactive measures to prevent such incidents and ensure stability.
The hoteliers and tourist players said that the past few years have seen a significant improvement in peace but certain elements behind these attacks are hell-bent on destroying the tourism industry, which is not only the backbone of Kashmir’s economy but also a source of livelihood for thousands of people.
Mushtaq Chaya and other stakeholders stressed that such attacks are unacceptable and appealed to the government to look into the matter and expose those involved.
Manzoor Wangnoo, one of the stakeholders, mentioned that during their meeting with the Tourism Minister, they laid stress on finding the root cause and solution to these attacks. He emphasized the dire need to curb unemployment and drug menace, which fuel such attacks.
The Hoteliers Club of Kashmir reiterated their commitment to peace and cooperation with authorities, urging the government to take swift action against those responsible for the attacks. [KNT]
