Srinagar – In a daring display of bravery and dedication, the police and fire services in Rajouri Kadal, Srinagar, successfully contained a massive fire that threatened to engulf a historic local masjid, saving countless lives and property.

The fire broke out in a commercial-residential complex late at night, posing a serious threat to the lives of residents and the adjacent mosque. SP North Srinagar, upon receiving reports of the incident, immediately mobilized police forces to assist fire services in combating the blaze.

The combined efforts of the police and fire personnel helped bring the situation under control, minimizing damage and ensuring the safety of the neighborhood. Residents were safely evacuated, and minor property damage was reported, but fortunately, no casualties occurred.

Eyewitnesses praised the swift and coordinated response, with one resident saying, “We feared the worst when the fire spread rapidly, but the timely action by the police and fire services saved our lives and protected our masjid.”

The police teams worked tirelessly throughout the night, assisting in firefighting operations and ensuring the safe evacuation of residents. SP North commended his team for their bravery, noting that the protection of lives and places of worship remains a top priority for law enforcement.

The fire, which took several hours to control, resulted in minor property damage but, thanks to the heroic efforts of the police and fire services, no casualties were reported.

Ap per the local Residents of Rajouri Kadal, they expressed immense gratitude toward SP North and his team for their courageous efforts. They acknowledged that the situation could have escalated into a catastrophic event if not for the swift action of the police and fire services.

A senior police official remarked, “Our personnel demonstrated unparalleled bravery and dedication. They worked in close coordination with the fire department to ensure the safety of both lives and property.”

The Divisional Fire Officer also appreciated the efforts of the police, emphasizing that their assistance in controlling the crowd and providing logistical support during firefighting was invaluable.

The incident highlights the unwavering commitment of the police, under the leadership of SP North Srinagar, to safeguard the public and protect places of worship. Their proactive and courageous response in a moment of crisis has earned them the respect and gratitude of the entire community.

The local administration has assured that measures will be taken to compensate those affected by the fire and conduct a safety review to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, SP North has reaffirmed his department’s dedication to public service and safety. The residents of Rajouri Kadal have hailed the police and fire services as heroes, whose selfless efforts saved their lives, homes, and a significant place of worship from a devastating disaster.
