Budgam, Jan 17: Locals from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district Friday staged a peaceful protest at Budgam railway station, urging authorities to include a stop for the Vande Bharat Express at the station.
The protestors emphasized that the inclusion of a stop would significantly boost local businesses and enhance economic opportunities in the district. They described the Vande Bharat Express as a pivotal initiative for regional connectivity and expressed hope that the government would recognize the potential benefits.
“Allowing the Vande Bharat Express to stop at Budgam will be a game-changer for the local economy,” one protestor remarked. They appealed to the administration and the Railway Minister to consider their request seriously and address the issue promptly.[KNT]
