The incident took place in the livestock shed of Ghulam Rasool Reshi, the owner of the sheep, who recounted the terrifying ordeal. Reshi told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the stray dogs managed to barge into the shed, causing chaos among the animals. “On hearing the noise, I rushed to save my sheep, but the dogs were aggressive and even tried to attack me,” he said.

The attack caused significant financial distress for Reshi, who revealed that he had taken a loan to establish his farm. “I hope the authorities will visit and see for themselves the havoc the stray dogs have caused. I urge them to compensate me for the losses,” he added, expressing deep concern over his financial predicament.

Locals also voiced alarm over the increasing menace of stray dogs, calling on the authorities to take urgent measures to prevent such incidents in the future. [KNT]
