Accidentally strangulated to death, while parents were away
Anantnag, 18th June, CNS: A 7-year old minor boy accidentally got strangulated to death, while he was swinging at his residence, in Bulbul village of Nowgam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.
The tragic incident occurred, when his parents were away from home and the boy, identified as Shibbo Ajaz Yattoo son of Ajaz Ahmed Yattoo, while swinging on a homemade swing, in the lawns of his home, lost the balance and his neck got stuck in the ropes of the swing, which swirled around his neck, suffocating him to death.
When the parents returned, they were shocked to see the kid motionlessly stuck to the ropes of the swing.
The boy was immediately rushed to GMC Hospital Anantnag, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile SHO Police Station Saddar Anantnag Abdul Rasheed, told CNS that police has taken cognizance of the incident and confirmed the registration of an FIR in the matter.
“We have sent the body for post-mortem and after the medico legal formalities are over the body will be handed over to the family for last rites”, he said.
Reports said that the whole area was grief stricken over the tragic death of the minor boy, while his parents are in a state of deep shock. (CNS)
