Police hav e arrested four accused while the BJP Panch is still evading arrest in connection with an alleged abduction and rape case.
Police have got the statement of the girl recorded in the court of law.
Police sources told news agency KNT that a girl lodged a written complaint at Police Station Hirpora here in South Kashmir’s Shopian district accused a BJP Panch Latif Jagal of abduction, molestation and rape. The girl named four other associates of BJP Panch who helped Latif Jagal in abducting and raping her.
Police after receiving the complaint swung into action got the statement of the girl recorded in the Court of law.
The girl has alleged that BJP Panch Latif Jagal with the help of his four associates abducted her and raped her for two days at a secluded location.
The accused BJP Panch is the resident of Chek Amshipora village of Shopian.
A top police official confirmed the incident to Kashmir News Trust saying that accused Panch is evading arrest while his four associates have been arrested and are in police custody.
“We have constituted a team to nab the accused Panch. He is still absconding. A formal FIR has been registered at police station Hirpora Shopian in this regard,” the police official told KNT.
