Srinagar, Sept 27: Second-year students of General Nursing courses across Jammu and Kashmir have voiced strong resentment against the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) for failing to declare their results even after more than five months since the exams were conducted.
The students told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that their examinations were held in March–April this year, but despite repeated assurances from authorities, the results have not been made public. “It is September now, and we are still waiting. Every year this delay repeats itself, wasting our precious time and extending the duration of our course unnecessarily,” a group of students said.

They complained that such administrative indifference is hampering their academic progress and career prospects. “Because of these delays, we are unable to move forward with our practical training and subsequent academic sessions. Our professional journey gets derailed, and the entire burden falls on students,” said another nursing student, who added that uncertainty has left many in distress.
The General Nursing course is already time-intensive, and students argued that the persistent delays by BOPEE in processing results not only stretch the course beyond the scheduled duration but also delay their entry into the workforce. With a growing demand for trained nursing staff in hospitals and health centres, the students believe the administration’s lack of urgency is unjustifiable.
The prolonged delays in declaring results undermine the credibility of institutions and erode student confidence. They stressed that at a time when health sector manpower is critical, authorities must ensure smooth academic cycles for nursing students.
When contacted, a BOPEE official acknowledged the delay but assured that results will be declared shortly. “The results are in process and will be announced soon,” the official said without giving a definite timeline. [KNT]
