In a major push to strengthen urban infrastructure and improve civic amenities in Ganderbal, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has sanctioned a comprehensive Urban Development Project worth ₹24.10 crore for the Municipal Council Ganderbal.
The project is aimed at transforming Ganderbal into a model urban centre with improved mobility, enhanced public spaces, and modern civic facilities. The initiatives under the allocation will focus on recreation, beautification, tourism promotion, and sustainable urban planning.
Major Works to be Undertaken Include:
1. Construction of a Multi-Level Car Parking facility to ease traffic congestion and provide better parking solutions for residents and visitors.
2. Development of the River Sindh Front into a vibrant recreational and public engagement space, including pedestrian pathways, green zones, and amenities.
3. Construction of a new, state-of-the-art Municipal Council Town Hall for public interactions, conferences, and administrative functions.
4.Upgradation of sports and recreation infrastructure, including development of playgrounds and community recreational areas for youth and families.
5. Construction of an Urban Guest House to accommodate visiting officials and guests supporting tourism and administrative convenience.
6. Installation of high-mast lighting and decorative street illumination to improve public safety and enhance the town’s visual appeal.
7.Installation of tourist-friendly signage and selfie points promoting local identity, culture, and visitor engagement.
