Tral – 09-07-20: The inhabitants of Bhatnoor village in Tral sub district are up in arms against PMGSY authorities for not compensating for their land that was used for constructing road to Basmai area under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The locals have said that concerned officials had assured them that they would be given compensation for their land, but the road is about to complete and the government is yet to compensate the villagers there. They further said that they allowed PMGSY to construct the road only after receiving assurances of compensation from the authorities, but the said assurances are yet to be fulfilled. The locals have demanded immediate compensation to their land so that they may heave a sigh of relief. An official has however said that their genuine demands are being redressed.
