Kulgam Aug 31: (JKNO) Miscreant attacked and injured a patwari of Devsar Kulgam for mentioning his employment in income report on Monday.
According to reports the miscreant Ashiq Hussain s/o Mohd Sulaiman Bhat working in police department and approached to the Tehsil office Devsar for the income report of his sister as concerned patwari prepared the report of his sister for income with true details mentioned Two brothers as Govt employee and father as pensioner later Miscreant approached to the Tehsil office and abused on duty patwari later attacked by a iron rod which sustained serious injuries on his leg after his other associates tried to save him from the attacker at the time of incident.
Meanwhile after the attack Patwari has been rushed to the nearby hospital for medical treatment by his associates where he got stitches on his leg deceased identified as Mohammad Iqbal.
When the news spread in the area the president of Tehsil Pathwari Association devser Kulgam Sajad Ahmad Parray and Naib Tehsildar Devsar Farooq Ahmad and others held a meeting in this regard and condems the attack and lodged the FIR against the person has been lodged into the Jail in Devsar police station Kulgam.
While Contacted the Tehsildar Devsar Abdul Rashid said the attack on patwari are strongly condemnable and culprit involved in the attack should be punished according to law he further said that Patwari are doing their job and performing duties day and night in this pandemic situation and appeals people for the corporation.
Police register a case against the person under FIR Number 89/2020 for further investigation underway. (JKNO)
