People of different villages in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, after the recent spell of rainfall, are these days wading through water to travel from one place to another within the village and to other destinations.
Deputations from Darend, Shallabug bund, Fatehpora, Kujar,Zari gund, Gogji gund, Malikpora, Dev pora and Chattergul, Wotshan, Wayil woder, Gonchi mohalla, Gotlibagh told that due to the callousness of Roads and Buildings and PMGSY department all the roads in the villages and also the connecting road to district headquarter is in a pathetic condition, which has made the life of locals miserable.
Amin Sofi said whole network of roads in the villages are in shambles as it has not seen any repair for the last 10 years.”
“With the passage of time, the roads have eroded to the level where with a small amount of rainfall, these get submerged, resulting in the blockade of passage”, he added.

“Now the situation has reached to the point that in case of rains, the whole road network of the areas gets submerged under the water, forcing people to wade through deep waters to move from one place to another”, said Sofi.
Amin sofi requested the #administration to take the note of their plight and come to their rescue by issuing orders to the R&B and PMGSY authorities to repair the roads and macadamize it at the earliest so that they get respite from immense difficulties, they are faced with because of the adverse condition of roads in Ganderbal and its flung areas.
