DDC Shopian reviews measures undertaken to stop illegal extraction from Nallah Rambara
Shopian April 30:- District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Chaudhary Mohammad Yasin today convened a meeting to review the measures undertaken to stop the illegal extraction of sand and Bajri from Nallah Rambara in the District here at Mini Secretariat Arhama Shopian.
Among others the meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shopian, ASP, concerned Engineers and Tehsildars.
DDC took strong cognizance of the illegal practice and directed for taking stern action against the violators involved in such illegal activity. He also directed the concerned to seize the equipment’s used in illegal mining causing serve damage to the nallah.
The DDC also appeals general public to extend their cooperation to curb the practice of illegal extraction in the district.
DDC directed the concerned tehsildars to keep close vigil on illegal extraction of Sand and Bajri in their respective jurisdictions and ensure that stern action against the violators found involved in such activities is taken and also lodge FIRs against those found guilty and brought them to the book immediately.
The meeting was informed that 20 vehicles have been seized in this behalf and action will be taken against them soon .DDC directed ASP present in the meeting to direct the concerned SHOs to be present while occurring such incidents to stop such illegal activity in the district.
