The 434 Km long Srinagar-Leh highway has been closed after upper reaches of Ganderbal district including health resort Sonamarg received fresh spell of snowfall on Wednesday.
An official told Rising Kashmir that Sonamarg and other higher areas of Ganderbal received fresh spell of snow since early today morning, adding that snowfall was also witnessed in Zojila, Gumri, Drass, Matayan and Meenmarg .
Meanwhile authorities have closed Srinagar-Leh highway for vehicular movement following fresh snowfall along Zojila Pass.
Dysp traffic Faheem Ali confirmed to Rising Kashmir that no vehicular movement will be allowed on both sides of Srinagar-Leh highway as a precautionary measure.
