Sopore Police continuing its war against drug menace in the police district, During a snap naka at main chowk Sopore dreaded drug peddlers/suppliers were arrested.
Details reveal that, in view of enhanced anti social activities by miscreants, who have been taking wrong advantage of the prevailing situation, a special team from Police Station Sopore, laid a snap naka at main chowk Sopore and during surprise checking, intercepted one Eon Car, bearing Registration number JK05G 1730 colour white, and apprehended two drug peddlers/suppliers namely
Rohit Bashir S/O Bashir Ahmad and Danish Javaid S/O Javaid Ahmad both are residents of Delina Baramulla
On thorough frisking of the vehicle a contraband of NDPS drugs was recoverd from the vehicle which was found to be kept cleverly inside the vehicle. Although the accused persons tried to cross the naka point trickishly but anyhow they were apprehended, without any further inconvenience.
Accordingly appropriate legal procedures were invoked to initiate criminal proceedings into the matter, and a case FIR No. 85/2020, U/S 8/22, NDPS Act. has been lodged in the Police Station Sopore.
The team was encouraged by the public and their work was appreciated by all. It has been reiterated by the Sopore Police that a zero tolerance mode shall continue against drugs and drug peddlers till the emergence of drugs free society. Public has expressed satisfaction over the performance of police and the police leadership in the Police District. Efforts are on to unearth the drugs nexus in the police district.
