A team of Senior Congress leaders from DCC Jammu Urban handed out free ration to the needy people of Ward 2 in Jullaka Mohalla  area. The party has been been apportioning ration in underserved and unreached areas of Jammu since the lockdown began. Led by Yogesh Sawhney, Former Minister J&K and General Secretary JKPCC Incharge District President Jammu Urban.
The distribution program was organised by Mr Chandra Shekhar (General Secretary DCC Jammu) and Atul Sharma (General Secretary DCC Jammu)  in Ward II today. Ration was majorly contributed by Neeraj Gupta, Secretary JKPCC and Anand Gandotra, President Block Congress Committee. “Government help hasn’t been reaching all areas in Jammu and it is our aim that no man goes hungry in the situation of this lockdown.” , stated Neeraj Gupta.
“When the entire country is on lockdown and people are fighting against this pandemic, there are also people who are fighting to arrange everyday food for themselves. Thus, the party has been dispensing ration to people and areas in need. This little help from our part will hopefully make some difference and make the situation easier for all of us. The party will always try it’s best to fulfil any demand that pertains to the welfare of people that arises anywhere anytime. “, stated Sawhney.
The congress leaders explained that in these few weeks since the national lockdown was announced, distressing stories of hunger and despair have been emerging from across the country and government relief packages came late and much of it hasn’t reached people. “There are people who are in need but due to loopholes in government policies and structures aren’t able to recieve the help they deserve. Given these exclusions, along with the fact that in the present crisis, there would be a much larger population which needs food support than those who were erstwhile recognised as being “poor”, the only way forward with ensuring that nobody gets left out of having access to at least a minimum amount of staples, is that everybody does their little part to reach out and contribute.”, added Sawhney.
Ration distribution in Ward II was undertaken by Yogesh Sawhney, Neeraj Gupta, Suresh Dogra ,Ramakant Khajuria, Pawan Dev, M L Malagar, Joyti Vaid, Anoop Gupta, ,Chandersekhar Sharma, Atul Gupta, , Gurmeet Singh, Ram Magotra, Sushant Gupta
andRajkumar Sodhi.
