IGP Jammu visits Reasi district, reviews Security and Corona control measures ; Compliments excellent work & urges continued efforts to ensure strict compliance of Security & COVID -19 advisories

Jammu May 5, 2020:- Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone Shri Mukesh Singh –IPS today visited Reasi district to take stock of measures amid COVID-19 to contain the spread of the disease.

During his visit IGP Jammu interacted with officers and jawans of District Reasi to know about their welfare, preparedness and arrangements in view of COVID-19. He interacted with the jawans performing duties on ground and inspected the arrangements with regard to hygienic conditions at the Mess of Jawans in DPL Reasi, Quarantine facility at DPL, Full Body sanitization Tunnel at DPL Reasi etc.

IGP Jammu also visited at Corona PCR established at PCR Reasi and interacted with the officials and enquired about the help being provided to old age persons, handicapped and general people of District Reasi. He appreciated the good work done by all ranks of police so far in containing the further spread of COVID-19 and stressed for sustained efforts at all levels and involvement of local populace in breaking the chain. He said that our officers and jawans are going out of way and doing an exemplary work in providing a helping hand to the needy people at this critical juncture and assured that we will continue to serve our people with full commitment.

IGP Jammu further said that J&K Police is leading from the front along with other departments in the fight against the deadly virus and emphasized other that it is important to follow the government orders and health protocols.
Later, IGP Jammu held a meeting with GOs at DPO Reasi and issued necessary instructions regarding precautions to be adopted in view of covid-19. SSP Reasi Smt. Rashmi Wazir briefed the IGP about the various welfare measures for the jawans, implementation of the lockdown and the measures taken for the welfare of the people. During the meeting IGP said that with the teamwork of the forces and society, effective implementation of lockdown is being ensured. He advised the officers to make sure that all police personnel are well equipped and sanitized on ground , not only to implement government orders and advisories but also to be mindful of their own health care.
