Jammu Industries donate Rs 32 lakh towards JK Relief Fund, PM Cares fund

Advisor Sharma hails the initiative, hopes others would also come forward

JAMMU, MAY 13: Advisor to LG, KK Sharma, today said that the government is committed to catalyze the industrial scenario by way of various ongoing and upcoming initiatives so that it gets the requisite fillip by way of necessary interventions.

The Advisor was interacting with a group of industrialists who called on him and presented an amount of Rs. 32.11 lakh towards JK Relief Fund, State Disaster Management Authority and PM Cares Fund.

Director Industries Jammu, Anu Malhotra, representative of J&K Pesticide Association, S.K.Bansal, President, Samba Industrial Association, Vijay Aggarwal, General Manager Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Narendra Brahmbhatt and Sushil Sharma and Plant Head, Coromandel International Limited, Ramnish M Sinha were present.

The industrial houses who contributed included Agro Life Science Corporation, Samba, Coromandel International Limited Samba, Crystal Crop Protection Limited, Samba, Bharat Insecticides, Samba, B.R.Agrotech Limited Samba and Sri Guru Kripa Alloys Limited Bari Bhamana,Gharda Chemicals limited, Samba, Birpur Small scale industries Association and Cadila Pharmaceuticals Samba.

Advisor while thanking the Industry representatives for their generous contribution said that it is our joint effort which will help the country in this time of crisis. He said that the initiative taken by the industrial sector of Jammu would also encourage others to come forward and contribute generously in the times of need for the nation.

Anu Malhotra, informed the industrialists about the steps being taken up by the department towards facilitating survival and growth of industries. She also informed and discussed various issues pertaining to the department.

The representatives, while interacting with the Advisor, raised several issues like modification in SOP for operation of Industries by allowing 60% or more employees instead of present 30% especially for agrochemical industries, problems being faced in arrangement of passes for employees from district administration, Passes for two wheelers should also be allowed and related issues.

Advisor assured the representatives that the issues raised by them would be taken up with the appropriate authorities keeping in view the current scenario.

With regard to apprehension raised by the industrialists that their labour/workers may go back to their native places as government has initiated process for their return, Advisor clarified that nobody can be forced to stay and work in the factories here  against their will if they wish to move to their native places.

As regards the demand for exempting Minimum Demand charges of electricity in favour of the Industrialists, Advisor informed that the Government is taking all steps to help Industries and this aspect will also be looked into.

Deputation also demanded lifting Gypsum/Limestone from Kashmir for Cement factories (Total 28 number) for which advisory may be issued to the concerned DCs. Advisor assured to take up the issue with the concerned.Deputation also demanded that the   New Industrial Policy should be launched at the earliest.

Advisor intimated that J&K Govt is already working closely with GoI towards mitigating sufferings of industrial sector in the UT.

With regard to other issues raised by the deputation, the Advisor assured them that all the issues raised by them shall be looked into.
