Budgam, June 21: An army officer was injured during a cordon-and-search operation after his service rifle went off and the bullet hit his foot in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district this late evening.
Official sources told News Agency KNT that soldiers from 2 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army cordoned off Watimagam village of Budgam and launched a search operation.
During the operation, the service rifle of an Army Major went off accidentally. The bullet hit his foot and he was immediately shifted to nearby hospital.
He has been identified as Vivek Tiwari.
The search operation concluded peacefully. (KNT)
