DDC Anantnag reviews progress of ongoing works

ANANTNAG, JUNE 06:   District Development Commissioner (DDC), Anantnag, K.K.Sidha today convened a meeting of officers of Rural Development Department (RDD) to review the pace and progress of works under various centrally sponsored schemes.

The meeting discussed status of works executed under MGNREGA, convergence works, CD & Pyt. 2019 – 2020, PMAY besides demands raised by the public during “Back to Village” Programme.

The DDC directed the officers to ensure maintaining of social distancing and usage of masks during execution of works.

 He also directed BDOs for involving panchs, sarpanchs and JRS to sensitise the rural population about wearing of face masks, maintaining of social distance, constant washing of hands with soap and to inform administration regarding the presence of any person coming from outside the district.

He also asked them to sensitise pregnant women to desist from coming out of their homes to prevent themselves from contracting COVID infection.

The DDC directed the BDOs to ensure that the benefits of PMAY with basic facilities including power, water, LPG (under UJWALA) connections  reach all the BPL families,  he also directed for matching the physical progress with financial progress and ensure one tree plantation at each work site.

The ACD on the occasion  through a PowerPoint presentation highlighted the achievements of the department about works.

He informed the meeting that under MGNREGA, during 2019-2020, 5572 works were taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 11506.26 lacs out of which 1275 works were completed physically generating 2116501.

Under the current fiscal year 328 works have been taken up generating 9733 man-days as on 05-06-2020 and a total number of 195917 job cards stand issued out of which 152651 are active, he said.

The ACD added that under PMAY 2315 beneficiaries stand registered with GEO tagging out of which first instalment has been disbursed among all 2314 beneficiaries, second instalment against 2125 and third instalment against 1911 and 1911 residential sheds stand completed till date.

Under 14th FCA 5450 works were approved out of which 3008 works were completed and payment of Rs.2725.906 lacs and similarly, under “B2V” programme 2019-2020 out of 113 approved works, 98 were taken up, 92 completed with an expenditure of Rs.45.84 lacs, he informed.

He further said that under management of COVID-19 pandemic 719581 masks were procured out of which 712859 masks stand distributed in the district. The RDD staff visited 66260 households with a rural population of 887469 under the programme and 50712 persons have downloaded Aarogya Setu App.

The meeting was attended by, ACD Anantnag, JD Planning, DPO, DD Planning, Exen REW, all BDOs, AEEs & JEEs of the department.
