Demands regularization and release of pending wages of HDF workers, daily wagers.

SRINAGAR, June 11: Former Member of Legislative Assembly and Senior Leader Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Sheikh Ishfaq Ahmad has urged the Cetral and Governor administration that SRO-202 should be revoked immediately as the SRO is totally discriminatory and completely against the qualified youth of J&K and has requested for early redressal of the long pending issues of workers of various departments.

In a statement issued here, the former MLA has urged Lt. Governor G C Murmu to do justice with the employees recruited under SRO 202, a government order of 2015 under which the appointees in the government service get only basic pay for the first five years of their service.

He said that SRO 202 appointees have to necessarily work for 5 years on the post against which he or she has been appointed and such appointee will not be eligible for transfer for whatsoever reason during the temporary service of 5 years and has demanded its rolled back without any delay it is against the basic spirit of job policy,” Ishfaq has said.

Demanding the release of pay and arrears of the workers, Jabbar said that the daily rated, ITI trained, need based and CP workers of the PHE, the Power Development Department, Agriculture, Floriculture, Tourism and the Public Workers Department are regularly attending their duties and their attendance is marked through the biometric system and also bio data of these workers has been since long back compiled and put online as well.

Mr Jabbar further said that the Government should give a considerate view to the demands of regularization of
Hospital Development Fund (HDF) employees as many of them have spent more than a decade serving the department and have reached near upper age limit. The government should resolve their issues fairly and release their pending salary.

“The government should take into consideration the prevailing tough times caused by the COVID and ensure that these hapless frontline workers are paid their wages without any further delay,” Jabbar demanded.

He has also requested the Lt governor to continue the services of para-medical staff engaged under SRO 384 in government medical colleges in Jammu and Srinagar besides requesting for early redressal of the long pending issues of the National Health Mission employees, Jabbar added.
