Jammu, Jun 9 (UNI) In an endeavour to fill the infrastructural gaps in all government schools across the Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, the Directorate of School Education, Jammu has constituted 42 district level Task Force units for infrastructural development.
The infrastructural development would be taking care of face-lifting, repair and renovation through micro level planning and execution with fixed timelines for the government schools.
As per Govt Order, the Directorate of School Education, Jammu headed by Director Anuradha Gupta has constituted district level Task Force as recommended by concerned CEOs and Principals DIETs hereby to have accurate assessment and well-coordinated execution of different works with immediate effect.
She said here that these Task Force units have been entrusted with different responsibilities to enhance the basic infrastructure at schools in general but particularly in remote areas.
”They shall assess infrastructural gaps of every Govt. School within timelines assigned by the Directorate and prepare short term as well as long term perspective plans for covering all infrastructural gaps in a time bound manner to project them under the relevant developmental schemes including District and State CAPEX, Samagrn Shikaha etc,Ms Gupta said.
She further added that each task force shall also suggest in consultation with the engineering wing the civil works (including repair and new construction) required to be undertaken immediately in each school, designs for face-lifting of school/classrooms.
The Director said, “apart from this, the Task Force shall also prepare a long term sustainable plan for maintenance of the school building Toilets, Kitchen Sheds besides assets of the school especially the funds available in the school and those expected to be received from different sources”.
More significantly these Task Force units shall also prepare a mechanism/ SOP for each Head of the school to follow for taking daily care and maintenance of the school infrastructure specifically focusing on sanitation and safety and security of students particularly girl students.
These units, she said, are also entrusted to arrange online interactions with school heads by strictly following the SON issued in view of Covid-19 pandemic and to have regular communication with the Heads of Schools for carrying out independent/neutral but regular analysis of implementation of school development plans.
The Director also mentioned that each member of the Task Force shall have random check of Data Capture Formats (DCFs) for at least 10 Schools (5+3+1+1 Pry +Upper Pry+ HS+ 1485 respectively) to ensure correct entry of data in Unified District Information of School Education (UDISE)
“For better results on ground zero the District level team members shall have to coordinate with six designated Divisional Officers while Chief Education Officers (CEOs) and Principals DIETs shall provide all the required logistic support to these members of district level task force and shall personally monitor their working by holding meetings of district level monitoring and mentoring committees which maybe held online till the situation improves.
“Meanwhile all Joint Directors shall have to regularly review the progress and guide the district level monitoring and mentoring committees,” she added.
Earlier on May 30, in a bid to ensure mental health and well-being of students amid Corona outbreak, Directorate of School Education Jammu has constituted a Psychological Task Force comprising over 100 teachers with psychology background.
