Nigeen lake – a part of Dal lake has been cleaned from unwanted weeds and other floating material by LAWDA and the locals have hailed the efforts of the authority in keeping the Dal and Nigeen clean. the Pokhribal area of the Nigeen lake has also been cleaned. The Deweeding/skimming of Nigeen Lake has been Taken in hand by Lakes and Waterways development Authority from 27th of May 2020. The Mannual Deweeding /Skimming upto 45 mtr from the shore of nigeen lake lake has been divided into two sections the Eastern side & Western side of Nigeen lake. Apart from above mentioned sections , three more sections namely Khujyarbal periphery, Pokhribal periphery and Ashaibagh periphery have also taken into hand for Deweeding /Skimming. The total Labours employed for Deweeding is 2210 lab. and for Skimming 520 Labours so far. The Quantum of weed removed is 3536 cum and the 104000 sq meters of skimming of lake area has been achieved.
