Srinagar, July 07 : Two persons including a 20 year-old girl committed suicide on Tuesday in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A 20-year-old girl committed suicide after consuming some poisonous substance at her home in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a 20-year-old girl (name withheld) consumed some poisonous substance at her home in Kehnoosa village today.
She was rushed to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore, where she breathed her last, they said.
After conducting legal and medical formalities, the body of the girl was handed over to her family for last rites. Police have taken cognizance of the case, officials said.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Naninara village of Sumbal in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday evening.
An official told KNO that a 22-year-old youth (name withheld) of Naninara village in Sumbal ended his life by hanging himself at his home this evening.
However, the family members immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival, the official said.
“Body of the deceased has been handed over to his family members for the last rites after completing legal formalities,” he said, adding that a case under relevant sections of laws has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.
