HIGH STANDARD CRICKET TO RESUME IN GANDERBAL: SALOORA TAKES UP GROUND MATTER WITH COM SEC YOUTH SPORTS, SSC OFFICER
Ganderbal, July 21: Most popular sport across the world and widely played across Asia, Cricket is all set to be resumed in Madr e Meharban Sports Stadium Ganderbal on very high standard turf wicket very soon.
Senior politician and social activist, Sheikh GA Saloora who is himself a veteran cricket and known for his pace bowling, has taken up the matter with Commissioner Secretary Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Sarmad Hafiz. Com Sec assured Saloora that Madr e Meharban Sports Stadium will be made as a glorified cricket ground and high stndard tournments would take place there very soon.
Saloora also talked to Divisional Sports Officer, Kashmir, Ms Nuzhat Ara and requested her to take up the pending pitch and pavilion development work at the Stadium on priority.
Div Sports Officer assured Saloora that she’ll take an official visit as soon as the lockdown in Srinagar ends and will ensure that all the things be prioritized so that Cricket will resume in MM Stadium very soon.
It is pertinant to mention that MM Stadium comes under J&K State Sports Council and the Council is doing its best to glorify the sheen of this historic ground in Ganderbal.
Moreover, Com Sec YSS and Div Officer SSC are very keen and concerned in promoting and developing Youth Services and Sports affairs in Kashmir for which Saloora paid his cordial gratitude and assured youth of Ganderbal that they’ll soon play cricket in MM Stadium with top class turf and other sophisticated facilities.
It was after many youth groups of sports lovers who met Saloora at his residence and numerous calls received by the leader, made him to approach Commissioner Secretary and SSC authorities to find immediate redressal of the issues being faced by these sports lovers of the district. CNI
