Srinagar, July 15: Police claimed to have arrested a LeT militant associate on Wednesday in Tral of South Kashmir’s Awantipora.
In a statement, Police said that Security forces arrested a militant associate of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the LeT militants as well as in transporting of arms/ ammunition of the militants in Tral, Kakpora, Khreew and Awantipora areas.
The statement further states that arrested militant associate has been identified as Sahil Farooq Mir resident of Chakoora Pulwama.
Incriminating material including explosive material and ammunition has been recovered from him in Noorpora area.
Case FIR number 92/2020 stands registered against the said arrested militant associate in Police Station Awantipora under relevant sections of law.(GNS)
