Sikendar Pora Rainawari Residents Stage protest against Acute Shortage of Potable Water

Srinagar, Oct 11:* According to the residents in Sikendar Pora Rainawari area of Central-Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Friday staged a protest demonstration over acute shortage of potable water in the area for over two weeks.
Reports said that the protesters mostly women raised slogans against Public Health Engineering (PHE) department , they said that the area has been under acute shortage of potable water for over two weeks. now, the protestors on the occasion alleged that concerned authorities of lackadaisical approach but as per the locals , they, have failed to restore the basic facility despite repeated pleas by the locals. The protesters alleged that the PHE department has been “taking them for a ride”, adding “this callous approach has left us with no option than to go for protests.”
