SDM Sumbal later on called back and said the vehicle with tinted glasses he is using is an official one and it is not his personal vehicle.

Pertinently, the Supreme Court has banned the use of tinted glasses in May 2012. Its use can result in a penalty or fine.

This Reporter contacted a senior lawyer who said that no official can use tinted glassed and under the Supreme Court guidelines the use of tinted glasses with lesser visibility can invite a fine of Rs 20,000. He said if the common man could not use the tinted glasses, then the law must be equal for all.(KNT)
